Description

Lake Vincent is a shallow, semi-sheltered, poorly-flushed freshwater coastal lake situated in a small catchment, primarily dominated by intensive agriculture including dairying. Results of a 2013 broad scale habitat mapping and macrophyte survey of Lake Vincent indicate that the lake is currently in a “mesotrophic” or moderately enriched condition, with a healthy community of aquatic macrophytes. Unless nutrient and/or fine sediment loads to the lake increase in future years, this lake is expected to stay in good condition (source lawa.co.nz).
