Lake Kaikiore is one of the Tiniroto Lakes (meaning many lakes in Māori), located near Gisborne. Lake Kaikiore is close to Lake Karangata making up the wetlands area of the Hackfalls Station Arboratum. This comprises of mainly exotic species, of note a collection of some 50 different taxa of Mexican oaks. There are a number of other lakes of different sizes in the surroundings.
